Church was canceled today. They never cancel church. We were desperate to get out of the house, so I was actually looking forward to getting dressed up and having some actual human contact for a few hours. Then they went and took that away from me. Insanity.
So, we did the next best thing we could think of. We took the kids shopping at meijer.
There were actually more people there than we had anticipated. Oh, it was still insanely empty. It felt more like 11:30pm on a Wednesday than a Sunday afternoon. But it was nice to see we weren't the only desperate souls seeking human contact.....and milk and eggs. The kids were running up and down the isles and I let them. I couldn't stop them. They'd been couped up for 5 days. It wasn't like there was anyone there for them to run into anyway. It wasn't my proudest parenting moment, but as I passed other weary looking souls in the cereal isle, they gave me a knowing glance. One that said.."It's cool. I understand."
We loaded up on arts and crafts supplies in the hopes it will entertain them for a few hours tomorrow. The windchill is predicted to be around -30*. (Balmy!!) so playing outside is not an option, and there is no way in hell I'm leaving the house. So, we are stuck for another day. *sigh*
At least we have food. They are getting to the point of looking like they want to eat each other. Wish us luck!!!

Easton has started attacking the others. It's really in the interest of their safety that they return to school.
