So far he's loving it. Though, I fear he may have inherited my athletic ability (read: none). I feel bad. Ricky was/is good at everything. He played everything in HS; football, baseball, he walked on to the basketball team, and he was All State for skiing. I, on the other hand.. sucked at pretty much every team sport I played. That's why I danced. It was the only thing I was good at. Ricky says I need to relax, "he's only 8" he tells me. But I can't help it. I want him to the best (or at least better) one on the team. I've worked with him... but he also has my attitude. Which means... he's pretty sure he knows "everything" so trying to teach him anything is impossible. *rolling eyes*
He has fun though... and that's the important thing, right??
I've also realized that I'm "that" mom. You know... the one who screams and yells though the.entire.game.?? Ya, that's me. lol I dated guys in HS with moms like that. Moms who got so passionate about their sons games it was obnoxious. I swore I would never be like that. Never say never.
I'm really not that obnoxious. And I have never yelled at the boys in a mean way. I have only ever cheered them on. I think it's because this year they are actually GOOD. I mean... in t-ball it's "cute". The kids might get a good hit, and if they make it all the around the bases its great. But t-ball is basically "adorable". I mean... few things are cuter than watching a 5 year old swing a bat that's almost as tall as them, while wearing a massive batting helmet, and donning the tiniest baseball uniform you've ever seen, right?!
But once they graduate from t-ball, and they actually learn how to hit, and catch, and slide, it becomes more "exciting" than "cute". They keep score, so you are automatically cheering them to a victory you hope and pray they'll get (btw~ Cohen's team is 2-0.. thank-you-very-much. ;). It's FUN. And I'm loving it, and so is he it seems. :)
*picture day the weather was NASTY so they moved the location inside to this baseball training facility.

Cohen turned 8 March 10th, and with that magical birthday came the gift of Cub Scouts.
He was sooooooo excited! Seriously. He used to tag along with my mother-in-law when we lived in California. They would let him just sorta hang out and he totally loved it. He's really excited that he FINALLY gets to go himself, and participate.
Scouts is about and hour, hour and half, long, each Wed, and even though we don't live that far from the Church... it's kind of dumb to go home after I drop him off, so... I usually take the other kids to the park while we wait. They LOVE it. It's also nice because it wears them out nice and good, which makes bedtime a breeze. (a plus when the hubs works evenings and bedtime is all on me).
PS~ I'm on Instagram!! (and pretty much addicted) Are you?! you can follow me... I'm wcmccoy
